MA sober houses provide a structured, substance-free living environment for people in recovery from addiction, focusing on peer support and helping residents build independent living skills. They do not provide clinical treatment, which distinguishes them from licensed recovery residences, but they do require residents to adhere to house rules, participate in recovery activities, and often pay rent. These homes help residents transition from treatment programs to long-term sobriety by fostering community, accountability, and a sober fellowship.
Shelter is a temporary place to stay as you search for your next place to live. Shelters manage their own registration process.
